The London 2012 Olympics have been hailed as one of the most successful of recent times.
MSA were engaged by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games to ensure that all fire safety regulations were endeared to and upheld in all the London venues for the duration of the Games. From the Olympic Stadium to Wimbledon, every venue was inspected by MSA’s expert team.A major element of our role was to review the venues that had been constructed specifically for the Olympics prior to final sign-off and hand-over. This included The Olympic Stadium, BMX Track, Aquatics Centre, Velodrome and much more. We were also contracted to inspect all temporary and existing venues used by the Olympics including the field hockey Riverbank Arena, Greenwich Park and the Volleyball arena on Horse Guards Parade. It fell under the responsibility of MSA also to oversee all of the fire marshals employed for The Olympics. We were awarded this contract as the result of a competitive public tender process open to the world’s best Fire Safety Engineering firms of which we came out top.
