MSA have been the fire safety engineers on a number of projects at Trinity College, Ireland’s most historic university.The Ussher Library was the subject of an international competition won by two Dublin-based architectural practices.
The new library brief also required to create a link between the Lecky Library and the excellent Berkeley Library.
The building is feature is the dramatic atrium that divides the book stack area from the readers’ areas that are highly glazed, generating views of College Park. The performance based fire engineered design was significant to achieve the innovative architectural design of the atrium in particular. MSA also developed the Fire Safety Management Manual been produced as a management tool to assist with the on-going fire safety practices in the new library atrium building. Working closely with RKD Architects and Walls Construction the new state of the art Biosciences building is now under construction. The building comprises three basement levels and six upper levels of laboratories, teaching facilities and commercial offices.
